The East Cape

The past weekend we drove around the East Cape which is the north-eastern most point of NZ.

Breakfast in Gisborne

One f the best things we've done was to ride the Rere Rockslide. This is a 60m natural rock that is covered by algae and the water of the Rere river which make for a fast but smooth ride!

Luckily we all brought our wetsuits as the water was freezing cold!

Later we visited the Rere Falls where you can step behind the water curtain

Tolaga Bay wharf, NZs longest wharf (600m)

Some 700 steps up to the East Cape lighthouse

Westcoast

It's been a while now but here are the pictures from our west coast weekend. We've been to Raglan, a hot water beach, couple of different waterfalls, the glowworm caves in Waitomo and to Taupo.

Bridal Veil Falls

Huka Falls Taupo
The glowworm caves were rally one of our highlights, it was great floating through the darkness and caving through cold water and stunning stone formations. Here are some impressions but pictures can't tell the beauty of this experience.
